Salman Khan is all set to bring in another tornado at the box office this Diwali, with Prem Ratan Dhan Payo hitting theatres on Thursday. With everything going in the film’s favour and advance bookings showing immense promise, here’s one reason why the makers will be rather pleased. The team has already recovered 71% of the film’s investments! That too, much before the film’s release!
The audiences have loved the trailer and promos of ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’ and people are looking forward to witness the Salman-Sooraj magic on screen after 16 long years. People are in awe with the larger than life picturisation of the film. The huge sets, an ensemble cast and the colorful vibe is something one can’t miss.
However, all this has come at a cost to the Barjatya’s. The film has been made at a cost of Rs 60 crore and Rs 20 crore have been spent on P&A. But Sooraj is not worried, as he is very confident about his film. Also, it has already recovered Rs 57 crores through satellite and music rights. And that’s huge! In fact, since this being a Sooraj Bartjatya film, Salman has not charged his fees and has done it for free. Prem Ratan Dhan Payo symbolises the reunion of one of the most awaited actor director duo Salman Khan and Sooraj Barjatya, after a long wait. Whenever this duo is seen on screen, they create magic and break box office records.
Advance bookings for the film suggest that the film will take a historic opening and it won’t be surprising if the film even manages to break all pre-existing records. Trade pundits are predicting a Rs 40 crore plus opening and if that happens, it will also be Salman’s biggest opener till date.
Salman Khan returns to the silver screen after his blockbuster, Bajrangi Bhaijaan. The movie is supported by a huge ensemble cast and is slated to release on November 12, 2015.
